International IPBS Symposium: from March 15 to 17 in Paris

15 Mar 2017 to 17 Mar 2017

The next Institute of Biology Paris-Seine (IBPS) International Symposium will be held from March 15 to 17, 2017 at the Durand Auditorium (Esclangon Building), on the Jussieu Campus of the Université Pierre-et-Marie-Curie.

This symposium will explore and analyze the different symbiosis modes known to date among several specis (and specifically among humans), including how the symbiosis strategies and mechanisms have shaped the evolution, and how the various symbiotic organizations act on organisms functioning. The computational biology and modelling approaches which allowed a better understanding of symbiosis will also be presented.

Sébastien Duperron, Assistant professor in Research Unit BOREA at UPMC will present : "Adaptation by association in the deep-sea: the case of chemosynthetic symbioses in bivalves", on the sesson 3 : 'Evolution and modelling'(day 2 16:00-19:30)
