Abstract
<p>Recently de Mazancourt et al.(2017) highligted the “Pinocchio-shrimp effect” on a new species of Atyid shrimp from Pohnpei (Micronesia). In combinating morphological data with a genetical analysis, this species is described here with its ecological distribution. The status of this new species is clarified and finally, neither C. brachydactyla De Man 1908nor C. mertoniJ. Roux, 1911 occur in Pohnpei.</p>
