The LMI EDIA's research actions in natural environment are focused on i) the effects of past and present environmental factors on the structuration of Amazonian specific diversity, ii) the organization of fish communities and iii) the variation of species life history strategies in interaction with their genetic variability.

The purpose of the OHM is to study how to preserve and manage biodiversity that are linked to traditional activities and knowledge, culture and social life.
