Functional ecology of the relationships between fish-habitat on the land-sea continuum
My research activities aim to characterize coastal marine habitats functioning focusing on fish in the global change and conservation biology contexts. Individual strategies, specific dispersion capacities and trophic web organisation are among tools permitting to evaluate connectivity between essential ecological habitats and their quality. We use different biological tracers like stable isotopes, microchemistry and microstructure of otoliths. Models are diadromous species (eel, mullet, flounder…), coastal species (sandeel, bass…) and elasmobranch communities (skates…). We focus on different habitats like saltmarshes, mudflats, temperate and tropical estuaries, rocky shores.
