Study of sex determination in the pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas during the development and during the adult gametogenetic cycles.
What are the early conserved factors of the molecular cascade of sex determination and/or gonadic differentiation? What is the critical period of sex determination during sex changes at each gametogenetic cycle and during the development? What are the epigenetic regulations (temperature, natural antisense transcripts…)? What are the key cellular events associated (primordial germ cell differentiation into germ cells during the development…)?
Molecular and cellular approaches: Gene/protein expression : RT-qPCR and in situ hybridization - Western-Blotting and immunohistochemistry/fluo - microscopy (photonic/electron).
