Maturité objective des poissons par l'histologie quantitative
Financed under a France Filière Pêche Convention, this project focuses on sexual maturity determination of female fish for three species : megrim (Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis), four spot megrim (Lepidorhombus boscii) and striped red mullet (Mullus surmuletus). Maturity determination through visual macrioscopic criteria bieng very subjective, this project aims to use tools such as histology and stereology to link the fish's maturity phase to macroscopic parameters that are easier to mesure while out on the field (total length, weight, age, gonado-somatic index, hepato-somatic index,...). It will then be possible to estimate parameters that influence age at fish maturity through the life and history traits of eich species (environemental parameters, anthropic pressures, inter-specific differences,...).
