Biogeochimical study of estuarine waters

I work in BOREA laboratory on the project entitled CARBONIUM, which focuses on understanding and measuring greenhouse gas sinks and sources in estuaries.

As an engineer I’m in charge of elaborating pressure measure systems in estuaries : using an air-flushing equilibrator coupled to an IR gas analyser for carbon dioxyde monitoring, and gas chromatography for CH4 and N2O measurements.

Improvement in these methods will expand data bases and will also be applied to rivers, lakes or other freshwater ecosystems in order to analyze the global carbon cycle within the land-water continuum.
