Identification of early markers of spermatogenesis in the lesser spotted catshark (Scyliorhinus canicula)

Within the EVOREG team, my research will focus on the regulation and control mechanisms of biological cycles in non-conventional model species, specifically the reproductive processes of Elasmobranchs. The objective will be to study the peptides involved in the regulation of spermatogenesis in these species. The work will involve cellular cultures of human cell lines and primary cultures of testicular cells from the small-spotted catshark (Scyliorhinus canicula). A range of molecular biology techniques (real-time PCR, plasmid preparation, transfections, etc.) and biochemistry techniques (immunocytochemistry, protein extraction and analysis) will be employed to address this issue and enhance our understanding of these emerging topics.
