Patrice PRUVOST
I'm supervisor of the Atlas of Marine Fishes of Metropolitan France. This atlas will contribute to the implementation of public policy in the French marine environment, in particular for the "Observatoire de l'éolien en mer". The protocols and tools we are going to develop will facilitate the updating of the atlas and enable the creation of other regional atlases, through partnerships with members of the international FishBase consortium and other major international databases, such as the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).
I represent MNHN in the FishBase consortium.
I'm also curator of the national ichthyology collection. I work with the collection managers to manage requests for visits, loans and images. I contribute to the expansion of the MNHN's collections by taking part in inventory and specimen collection missions during oceanographic cruise or land expeditions.
Since October 2023, I have been part of the steering committee for the redesign of the new collections management software (Jacim) as co-product manager on the scientific side, with a cross-functional view of all collections.
