French American Doctoral Exchange Seminar (FADEx): Ocean-Climate : October 20, 2017 in Paris

For the next FADEx edition in October 2017, the Office for Science and Technology (OST) of the Embassy of France in the United States is organizing a French-American seminar focused on the Ocean-Climate theme for French and US Ph.D. students.

One journey of exchanges between France and USA PhD students will take place in Paris, on Friday October, 20, 2017.

All selected PhD students are invited to present their thesis at a seminar, in the mode “My PhD in 180 seconds’.

For BOREA PhD students:

  • Paul Valke - Shape and mechanical adaptation of Gorgonia ventalina
  • Julie Schwartz – Functional characterization of neuroendocrine pathways involved in the control of the physiology by the characterization of receptor/neuropeptides couples in the oyster Crassostrea gigas
  • Morgane Bonadè – Quantitative and qualitative approach of neurogenesis during the life of the cuttlefish Sepia officinalis and influence of light
  • Julia Machon - Comparative study of sensory abilities (chemo- and thermo-reception) in deep hydrothermal Alvinocaridid shrimp Mirocaris fortunata and coastal shrimp Palaemon elegans
  • Valentin De Mazancourt - Diadromy, dispersion and evolutionary history of Caridina nilotica and Caridina weberi species complexes (Crustacea: Decapoda: Atyidae) in the Indo-Pacific islands
  • Jerôme Morelle – Spatial and temporal dynamics of the primary production in the Seine
  • Frank David – Carbon dynamics and trophic relationships in a human impacted and mangrove dominated tropical estuary (Can Gio, Vietnam)
